David Groff

A vice president in the Commercial Lines department, David Groff is in the Product Management unit working on pricing, customer segmentation and product development. A self-described “math person” who studied mathematics and statistics, he previously was in the Pricing Analytics and Personal Lines departments. He joined Cincinnati Insurance in 1991 and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designations.

In my dad’s case, it’s true

Growing up, I always had the notion that I would be a doctor. It ran in the family: my dad was a dentist, my dad’s father was an M.D. and my mom’s father was a veterinarian. I took Latin in middle school and high school, since that language seemed to be the origin of all medical terms. At some point in high school I realized I didn’t like the sight of blood, and that could be a sticking point in the medical field. I liked math and decided to look at engineering and math majors.
