We couldn’t let September go by without a mention of national PrepareAthon Day coming up on September 30. The Federal Emergency Management Agency and related government organizations urge all Americans to create a disaster plan to help cope with earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, wildfires and other disasters. Check coverage before loss of power, utilities


Many of us can still remember the effects of Hurricane Ike in September 2008, when the storm caused damage across 11 states. Widespread winds with gusts to hurricane force caused one of the largest power outages in the history of the Midwest, with close to 4 million customers losing power.
